Update from Maryrose: Monet Lilies - The Story

Maryrose writes to relate the story behind the “Monet Lilies” sculpture:

The inspiration for “Monet Lilies” came during a honeymoon in 1977 to Paris.

It was at the Musée de l’Orangerie des Tuileries, that Maryrose saw Claude Monet’s huge water lily paintings wall papering the entire oval room while “Le Mer” by Debussey was background music and it has ever since been one of her great aesthetic moments. That same trip she and her new husband, poet Paul Carroll, met Paul’s old friend, Claes Oldenburg with his new wife, and artistic partner, Coosje van Bruggen.
